A PLAY OF TRANSPOSITION
Beyond the gaze, the transposition of periods also embodies ANNABELLE's artistic DNA. While drawing inspiration from the aesthetic codes of the Renaissance, such as black backgrounds, lace, velvet, and jewelry typical of the 16th century, ANNABELLE blends eras with subjects that reflect hyper-contemporary beauty standards. She thus creates a timeless, mysterious, and independent female figure, a modern warrior draped in lace, whose appearance recalls that of social media celebrities in a Renaissance setting.

This work is titled Candide, a name derived from the Latin candidus, meaning "bright white," "pure," "without stain."
By extension, this has given rise to the idea of moral purity, innocence, and sincerity. Sometimes even a little naive, because she doesn't suspect malice or cunning in others.
