A PLAY OF TRANSPOSITION
Beyond the gaze, the transposition of periods also embodies ANNABELLE's artistic DNA. While drawing inspiration from Renaissance aesthetic codes, such as black backgrounds, lace, velvet, and jewelry typical of the 16th century, ANNABELLE fuses eras with subjects that adhere to hyper-contemporary beauty standards. She thus creates a timeless, mysterious, and independent female figure, a modern warrior draped in lace, whose appearance recalls that of social media celebrities in a Renaissance setting.

This work is titled Océane; the iris is a swirl of blues, greens, and touches of gold, reminiscent of the deep shades of the ocean. We sense a sense of mystery and depth, as if we could lose ourselves in it.
This work exudes an emotional intensity. The gaze seems both strong and fragile, deep and alert. We almost feel as if this eye has a story to tell.
