A PLAY OF TRANSPOSITION
Beyond the gaze, the transposition of periods also embodies ANNABELLE's artistic DNA. While drawing inspiration from Renaissance aesthetic codes, such as black backgrounds, lace, velvet, and jewelry typical of the 16th century, ANNABELLE blends eras with subjects that reflect hyper-contemporary beauty standards. She thus creates a timeless, mysterious, and independent female figure, a modern warrior draped in lace, whose appearance recalls that of social media celebrities in a Renaissance setting.
Mara, of Hebrew origin, means "bitterness," evoking deep sadness. Mara has a magnetic presence. She doesn't speak for the sake of it, but when she does, we listen. She exudes a discreet, almost enigmatic charisma. Like her biblical meaning, she is marked by depth. She has experienced pain and self-questioning, but she carries an ancient, almost instinctive wisdom.
